SINGAPORE, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.04 percent, or 1.4 points, to close at 3,202.04.

A total of 1.19 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 965.41 million Singapore dollars (about 711.85 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 222 to 150.

The STI index went up 0.5 percent, or 16.08 points, to close at 3,200.64 on Thursday. Enditem
