KABUL, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- One person has been confirmed dead and another sustained injury as a flash flood swept through parts of eastern Afghanistan's Logar province on Sunday night, said a statement of the provincial government office released on Monday.

Meanwhile, five residential houses have been utterly washed away, and 10 others were partially damaged in the flash flood in Azra district, the statement said.

At least 30 acres of farmland and several gardens were badly damaged in the flooding, it said.

The rainstorms and flooding also damaged property in parts of Parwan province on Sunday night. ■
